An Easy to make quilt block that, when finished , measures 11 inch square.
Instructions
Let’s make a start, and that means cutting! you will need 13 different fabrics. For this example I have tried to use quite different coloured fabrics so that each step is easy to distinguish. all are 100% cotton!

With right sides together an a 1/4 inch seam, sew one edge together of the 2 inch squares.
iron flat, and the back seams open. Take the next size 2″ by 3.5 and lay right sides together.
Again sew, with a 1/4 inch seam. Iron, with the seams open.

Take the next 3.5 long piece, lay right sides together along the bottom of your square. Iron open. Follow this routine for each piece. adding along in a clockwise fashion

Ironing seams open each time.

Keep going to you have used your last strip which is 11″ long. Give a good iron.

And there you have it! back it with wadding, and backing fabric and add the bias binding.
One on its own can make a nice pot stand, or hang on the wall

Or make more and sew them together in strips. The liberty quilt shown is 5 by 5 blocks.
